Dear Copper Hills 8th Ward Members,

This is my 13th postcard. My postcards have come to you, three times each year. Because my mailing list is outdated, you might be receiving this, and yet, not be a member of the LDS church. If this is the case, please pardon me, or feel free to read what I have to say.

My postcards have all focused on a concept taught by the church, in the Book of Mormon, considered the most correct of any book on earth, 2 Nephi 32:5 states, “if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.”

Is this concept true, or not? I’ve asked this of local leadership and the First Presidency, over and over again, every ten days, for a total of 52 requests, without receiving a response from them. Why won’t they respond to this question?

Also, I’ve asked you, members of, allegedly, the “true church,” but none of you have responded.

Hmm… What does this mean?

Perhaps, the LDS church doesn’t understand the principle upon which “love” operates. In my patriarchal blessing, it was predicted that I would understand the principles upon which this earth operates. And, I understand that “love” is the fruit of the Spirit of God. See Galatians 5:22-23.

Nephi taught that the Holy Ghost, which is the Spirit of love, will show us all things we should do.

So, why can’t the church answer my question, is 2 Nephi 32:5 true, or not?

Maybe it’s because the LDS church doesn’t believe in leading its members to always love one another. Maybe it’s because obedience to church leaders is emphasized as more important.

If the church was leading its members to always love one another, then the church would say, without hesitation, that 2 Nephi 32:5 is true, for we’re enabled to love, only by the Spirit of God.

Why put up with a church that’s leading you astray from the principle of love that will save you?

A few years ago, when President Bohne and our area authority seventy came to my home, when I asked if the church would honor the teachings of 2 Nephi 32:5, he said the church would not. Instead, he said that church members are to obey their leaders, please them, and subordinate to them.

But, I thought the whole point of the gospel of Jesus Christ, was to receive of God’s forgiving love, to then walk in the Spirit of love, which is to honor the concept taught in 2 Nephi 32:5, completely.

Regards,

Aaron McMillan
